Dot Jump Codes within Master FIles
To use these codes, your cursor must be in “Edit” mode within the file. You must have selected “E”dit at the selection prompt.
.# Display Field Number:
Displays the number assigned to each field of the master.
.(# of Field) Number of Field:
Using the number displayed dot + field number willtake cursor
directly to that field.
Note: Because all dot jump commands begin with a decimal point <.>, when entering numbers less than zero in any of the master fileds, it is necessary to enter them with a leading zero, (i.e. 0.5 not .5), otherwise the cursor will want to jump to field 5.
.B Back: Will take the cursor back one field at a time.
.E End of Line: Will take cursor to end of the field to allow editing
by backspacing.
.C Cancel: cancels the master record that is currently displayed
without or Ctrl+X saving any changes.
.D Done: Saves the record immediately without having to return
cursor to bottom of screen.
General System Dot Jump Codes
.W Window: Where applicable, will display a window in the lower
portion of the screen o allow you to look-up or search on that
particular field.
<ESC> Escape: Will escape out of current screen and return to
previous menu. You will lose any changes not saved.
<Shift> + ? Help: Displays what each letter option represents at Selection
line.
